Serving body(suit)

I LOVE a body suit. It’s been one of my favorite clothing items since I was a child. After a brief respite I’m proud to say the body suit is back and I’m scooping them up as quickly as my little hands can handle.

Body suits are great because they create a smooth, wrinkle free top that can be dressed up just as easily as worn casually. When it comes to body suits, black and other dark colors are best.  They’re more forgiving than lighter colors and tend to mask those imperfections we as girls focus on with laser accuracy.

Trying to step out of my all black wardrobe choices for spring, I recently purchased this dark green body suit from Top Shop.  I’ve paired it with the latest denim craze- the flare cut off (similar here)  and a small wedge sandal from H&M (similar here). I like this look with a low profile sneaker as well for an even more casual vibe.

Today, I’m wearing this outfit with my favorite lace bomber from earlier this week.  Its the perfect combination of cool and comfortable for my showroom appointments all over the city.

The great thing about a body suit is it can be dressed up at the drop of a dime. I love one with an oversized pant, or a midi skirt. Mix and match with care though- I wouldn’t ever go with anything too tight or short on the bottom to keep the proportions of your overall outfit in check.

Here are a few potential items that would look great with a bodysuit for a dinner with friends or a night out.

These MSGM oversized culottes.

These Chloe silk crepe pants.

This Leith wrap skirt.

This Acne Studios asymmetrical skirt.
