My Favorite Things : May

They say April showers bring May flowers.  Well, like any other New Yorker will tell you, I am more than ready for spring to finally show its face.  I’m a big believer in the power of positive thought, so I bring you May’s edition of My Favorite Things with some items from my wish list that are sure to chase away the cold for once and for all.
1- Lace up sandals – In flats or in heels these sandals are a must for spring.  I can’t stop dreaming of myself skipping through the East Village in my favorite flat version, or sipping spicy tequila cocktails on the roof at Catch in these heeled beauties.  Really, at any height this trend is one you’ll want to “tie down” immediately.
2- Bell sleeve- Maybe I listened to too much Fleetwood Mac as a child, or maybe I just don’t like my forearms to be restricted.  Either way I can’t seem to get enough of the bell sleeve.  I like it for casual afternoons with cut offs, or off the shoulder and dressed-up up for a Sex and the City-esque night out with the girls.  Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and even Miranda will be ‘totes jelly’ of this look.
3- Paper-bag waist- I recently moved, and in doing so, got rid of a good portion of my closet.  Amidst the countless pairs of Juicy Couture sweatsuits from favorites past, I found my Theory paper-bag waist trousers like a stroke of divine intervention.  They are not only still in style eight years later (and chic A.F.) but they are incredibly flattering; synching the waist and creating that hourglass figure we all lust after.  Since I’m still beckoning spring, these are my favorite leg bearing options here , here , and here.
